Majestic essence

The interior concept of this Buda apartment creates a refined aesthetic in which the timeless elegance of English classicism and the intricate geometry of Art Deco meet a contemporary, understated approach to spatial design. The existing characteristics of the apartment, including its moderate ceiling height and limited natural light, called for a carefully balanced visual language without excessive ornamentation. The focus was therefore placed on the quality of materials, considered proportions and meticulously designed details.

Light-toned oak flooring by Listone Giordano brings natural warmth to the interior while balancing the darker furniture and metallic accents. Satin-finish surfaces were used for wall treatments and decorative framing, subtly reflecting both natural and artificial light and lending a lighter quality to the spaces. Lighting was selected with equal consideration for aesthetics and functional illumination. Eichholtz fixtures, combining brushed gold and crystal elements, introduce an elegant decorative character, complemented by concealed LED lighting, wall lamps and floor lamps to create a layered lighting scheme throughout the apartment.

The fragmented geometry of the floor plan required particular attention to spatial organisation. To maximise every available area, the majority of the furniture and storage solutions were custom designed. Full-height cabinetry running along the walls provides generous storage while also playing an important role in defining and visually structuring the interior. Sections of the continuous wardrobe composition are interrupted by open antique-mirror elements, creating a sense of lightness and depth while subtly referencing the Art Deco inspiration of the project.

Another key feature is the integrated banquette dining area, incorporated into the bespoke cabinetry and finished with a delicately upholstered backrest. Both functional and visually distinctive, it becomes an integral part of the architectural composition rather than a freestanding piece of furniture.

The custom-designed TV wall forms another focal point of the living area while functioning as a multifunctional storage system. A glass sliding door disappears into the cabinetry when opened, allowing the living space to expand, while when closed it separates the rear section to create a more intimate entrance zone. This flexible approach to spatial planning responds directly to the unconventional geometry of the apartment, allowing its different functions to adapt naturally to everyday use. The bathroom continues the refined, Art Deco-inspired character of the interior. Marble-effect surfaces and the vertically fluted vanity front establish a strong architectural rhythm, while polished gold fittings introduce a subtle reference to classical elegance. In the shower, a delicately textured Mutina mosaic adds depth and tactility, while decorative ceiling mouldings and symmetrically positioned lighting emphasise the proportions of the room.

The result is an interior that is carefully considered both aesthetically and functionally. Contemporary elegance, craftsmanship and classical references come together in a subtly layered home where bespoke design, material quality and thoughtful spatial solutions define the overall character.
