The aim of this project was to create a dedicated hobby and relaxation room within an existing family home, designed primarily for the male members of the family – a place to retreat, enjoy conversations, play cards or watch a film together. The clients envisioned a comfortable, characterful and intimate interior with an atmosphere and function distinct from the more traditional communal spaces of the home.
The concept is defined by deep, warm tones and a strong masculine character, deliberately softened through curved forms, tactile textures and a layered approach to materials. Darker surfaces, natural shades of brown, and black and bronze details create a restrained yet distinctive palette, while a combination of textiles and leather adds warmth and softness to the space.
One of the defining visual elements of the interior is the Wall&decò wallpaper, which extends from the feature wall onto the ceiling. Its large-scale graphic pattern, framed by a gently curved architectural element, deliberately breaks with the room’s regular geometry while visually bringing the lounge area together. Concealed indirect lighting further emphasises this gesture, transforming the ceiling into an integral part of the overall interior composition.
The material palette is built around the interplay of surfaces with contrasting characters. The bespoke curved bench and bar stools are upholstered in refined leather, while richly textured fabrics appear across the seating and decorative textiles. Black and bronze metal details are repeated consistently in the lighting, tables and furniture bases, creating subtle contrast with the softer finishes. Lighting is composed in multiple layers: alongside concealed illumination, statement light fixtures serve both functional and decorative purposes.
The different functions of the room – the lounge area, a table designed for card games and long conversations, the bar and the home cinema – are closely connected while remaining clearly defined. The result is an intimate interior with a distinctive identity, where strong materials, soft curves and carefully layered lighting come together to create a relaxed, contemporary club atmosphere.
