We planned the storages and a small working corner in the area of the originally open gallery, which on one part we closed off from the eyes of the customers, but the entrance had to remain controllable from the upper floor, thus a partly open, partly closed wall system was formed and with a multitude of moving elements that also reflect the shop’s activities was all made evenly “crowded”. The playful but sophisticated colour palette was inspired by the lively spirit of the surrounding historic buildings.
The strong appearance of the built-in furniture is eye-catching, yet allows the individual objects to prevail, each can “self-actualize” without confusing the others. The warmth and depth of the retail space is given by the thoughtful use of textural elements and fine detailing, where vintage and unique pieces are mixed with each other in the spirit of everyday sophistication. On the floor we used mosaic with a gradient wave effect, paying homage to the typical ornate entrances of downtown buildings. For us, this place is a fusion of past and present, where warm and rustic materials meet soft romantic style.
