What can be an advantage of a project can sometimes be also its disadvantage. That’s how we were with our most recent job.
Our customers’ request was to expand their house next to Budapest, so it was our task to think further their already existing home with an Anglo-Saxon atmosphere, where the signature of our special humour could also be subtly found.
After the addition, the entire parental unit, a spacious laundry room and a library with a special character were accommodated there. The bright corridor connecting the two units provides not only a functional but also an aesthetic experience for the passer-by since this is where the artworks only collected until now have been given a worthy place, which we have highlighted with finely crafted handicraft lamps.
When we enter the bedroom, the play of fine pastel shades and drawn-quilted textures creates a comfortable, intimate atmosphere, with the wall tapestry evoking velvety clouds being the perfect complement to classic elements evoked.
The partially enclosed units of the women and men’s wardrobes with separate entrances, decorated with coffered fronts, perfectly add to the atmosphere of the house.
The central element of the bathroom is a freestanding cast iron bathtub, the classic style of which harmoniously combines the purity of traditions with modern lines, and this is also reinforced by the narrow spatial structure.
The unique furniture and accessories of the bathroom evoke the past, while still creating a perfectly contemporary space.
Our customers are obsessed with collecting books, so dreaming up a library room meeting their needs also played an important role, where all members of the family can retire with a pleasant book, but it also provides the right space for a business meeting.
The decorative window sills of the room, the characterful furniture and the astronomical blue tones perfectly reflect the world of traditional library rooms, which is spiced up by wallpaper with a chatou-like plant motif.
There was also a need to design a generous laundry room, where powerful patterns, alongside classic lines, bring sufficient mobility to the space.
There is never enough room to play, so the freed-up master bedroom has been given a new function and become an integral part of the children’s section.
