This project marked a very special milestone for us—it was the first time we were entrusted with the full interior design of a nursery for a newborn. We took on the challenge with great enthusiasm, with the goal of creating a functional, loving, yet subtly atmospheric space—one that would offer an ideal environment during a baby girl’s early years, while remaining flexible enough to adapt as her needs change.
We chose a soft, feminine color palette that avoids overly bright or clichéd pinks. The combination of powdery pink and creamy beige creates a calming ambiance, enhanced by a delicate balance of textures and materials.
Natural wood furniture and herringbone oak flooring bring warmth into the space, while playful wall decorations—clouds, balloons, and a custom-designed hot air balloon—add a light-hearted and imaginative atmosphere.
Functionality and long-term usability were essential aspects of the design. In addition to the crib and a dresser that doubles as a changing table, we integrated a built-in wardrobe and open shelving system, providing generous storage to help keep the room organized and structured.
The modular nature of the furniture allows the space to be easily transformed into a toddler’s room later on with just a few updates.
We were especially delighted to include the work of Hungarian designers and artisans in the project. The charming wall decor—including the whimsical clouds and hot air balloon—was created by a local artist, while the hand-crocheted toys and textile accessories came from another talented Hungarian maker. These pieces not only added a personal and unique character to the room, but also gave Hungarian design a meaningful presence in this special interior.
This project will remain unforgettable for us—not just because of the functional challenges it presented, but because of the love and care that shaped every decision and every detail.
